character: tanya_degurechaff, copyright: youjo_senki 1girl, solo, close-up, face focus, portrait, from below, slight dutch angle, sharp eyes, blue eyes, penetrating gaze, fearless grin, open mouth, teeth bared mid-shout, triumphant cry, blood on face, blood splatter across cheek, blood on chin, wiping blood from cheek, gloved hand at cheek, military uniform collar, greatcoat collar, blonde hair, short hair, hair between eyes, ponytail, loose strands across forehead, windblown hair, blue eyes, dark sky behind her, ash and smoke, looked at camera, dynamic angle, The camera is low and just under her chin, tilted a few degrees off level so the horizon of the sky behind her slants, and the crop cuts at the top of her shoulders so her face fills almost the whole frame. Her head is tipped back and turned slightly to her right, chin lifted against the wind; the blonde hair is short at the back with a ponytail caught and pulled sideways by the gust, loose strands whipping across her brow and one lock falling between her eyes. Her eyes are narrowed to cutting slits, irises a hard cold blue with a bright pinpoint of reflected sky in each, fixed past the lens toward the empty air where the enemy line used to be — not at the viewer, but through the space above them, the way a victor looks at ground already won. Her mouth is wide open mid-shout, upper lip pulled off the teeth, jaw thrust forward, the shout caught at its loudest so the cords in her throat and the small muscles at her temples stand out; the corners of the mouth are still curled up into a grin that does not belong to a child's face. Fresh arterial blood is flung across her face: a fine spray of dark droplets over her left cheekbone and temple, a streak smeared along the jaw, a bright tacky line at the corner of her mouth. Her right hand, in a dark leather glove with the cuff unbuttoned and the strap hanging, is pressed to her other cheek and dragging downward — two fingertips and the heel of the palm pulling a wet red smear through the splatter, the glove's knuckle seams already darkened and glossy where the blood has soaked in, a bead of it gathering at the lowest point of her jaw and about to fall. The glove is the only thing touching her; the contact is the wipe, palm flat, drag unfinished. Behind her the sky is a bruised grey-brown of smoke and drifting ash, nothing in focus, no landmark, no second figure; the shallow depth of field reduces the war behind her to soft murk so the only crisp thing in the image is her face. The single light source is low and in front of her, cold and pale, standing in for the flare of burning ground below the frame: it underlights her chin and the underside of her nose, catches the wet blood so the fresh smears shine while the dried ones stay matte and dark, glints along the wet edge of her teeth, and throws her brow and eye sockets into a hard shadow that makes the stare look carved out. The palette is her pale skin and bleached blonde hair against cold blue eyes, the dark navy-black of the uniform collar, and the red of the blood as the one hot colour in the whole frame. Ash flakes drift past her cheek, a few settling on the upward-facing edge of her shoulder board and none on the underside of her jaw. Feral, exultant.
