The pilot's body inside the rig is a slender androgynous silhouette: head tilted a few degrees down, chin dipped, eyes lowered toward the viewer with a level, unhurried commander's assessment; short cropped silver hair swept back from the brow, strands lifting off the temple where the halo's field pushes air past them. The exoskeleton is the whole detail budget. Matte-black armour plate occupies the chest shell, the ribbed abdominal segments and the heavy greaves; brushed silver sits on the collar ring, the forearm cuffs, the knuckle guards and the rim of every plate edge, polished so it throws one thin specular line where the key light rakes it. Crimson circuitry runs through seams and channels like capillaries — twin lines down the sternum, a fine lattice across the deltoid housings, striations along each thigh — lit from within, so the red blooms slightly onto the surrounding silver and pools a faint red smear on the inside of the neighbouring plate. The light is in the channels, not on them. Above the head, unsupported, a circular mechanical halo of segmented silver ring-plates turns slowly, and inside its aperture four translucent holographic displays hang edge-on to the camera, flickering sheets of pale cyan-tinged white carrying microscopic illegible data readouts and battlefield contours that refract the crimson glow behind them. The right shoulder carries a pair of compact remote turret domes on short mechanical arms, barrels tracking off to the right of frame; the left shoulder carries its own twin, angled down and forward, both sets counter-rotating slowly on their gimbals. Around the figure, five autonomous weapon drones float in a wide asymmetric shell — one high off the right shoulder, two low at hip height in front-left and far-right, one near the halo's outer ring and one behind and below, half-occluded by the figure's calf. Each is a wedge of black and silver with a single crimson lens and a thin emissive stabiliser fin, and hard-edged cast shadows from each of them fall across the figure's armour and the tinted barrier surfaces. A wide holographic battlefield interface is projected forward and to the left of the chest, tilted in perspective, a curved translucent plane of thin white gridlines, orbital markers and illegible small-type coordinate blocks; a red hairline "DOMINION" label and, beneath it, a smaller "ALEX STRIKER" designation ride the interface's top edge, distorted along the plane's curve, with all finer text deliberately unreadable. Three angular energy barrier plates are deployed: a broad hex-panelled shield hovering in front of the left forearm, its face a faint cyan-white luminance with a bright hard rim where the edge catches light, a second smaller plate snapped shut across the right thigh, and a third just beginning to unfold behind the right shoulder, its panels still fanning open. Contact and weight: nothing touches the ground; the figure hangs, boots pointed a little downward, the energy field of the halo pushing the hair and loosening the few fabric straps at the waist so they drift backward and up. Above and behind, absolute darkness; the only light sources are the crimson circuitry, the halo's pale glow and the barrier edges, so every plate has a red-kissed top edge and a black underside, and the cast shadows radiate outward from the rig itself. Palette is strict: matte black, brushed silver, crimson and the cold cyan-white of the holograms, nothing else admitted. Intricate, deliberate, built-to-command.
