yandere, 1girl, solo, long straight black hair, blunt bangs, hime cut, black eyes, wide-eyed, uneven pupils, manic grin, teeth showing, blush, blood splatter on cheek, white short-sleeved school blouse, red ribbon tie, navy blue pleated skirt, blood-stained kitchen knife, holding knife, right hand raised, head tilt, from below, close-up, dutch angle, looking at viewer, leaning forward, depth of field, darkened classroom, after school, dusk The camera sits low and close, tilted a few degrees off level, so the girl's face fills the upper two-thirds of the frame and looms over the lens: seen from below and slightly to her right, her chin lifted, her head cocked hard toward her left shoulder, hair sliding off that shoulder in a heavy black curtain while the blunt fringe stays level across her brow. Her eyes are wide open, black irises ringed by a thin bright rim of white, one pupil blown wider than the other; her gaze comes straight down the lens and does not blink. Her smile is too wide for her face, upper teeth bared, one corner pulled higher than the other, a streak of red drying on her cheekbone and a smaller fleck at the corner of her mouth. Blood has soaked the blade of the kitchen knife and dried brown at its spine, and a bead of it hangs at the very tip; she holds the knife in her raised right hand beside her jaw, the flat of the blade turned to the lens so its edge catches the light, her wrist bent, her fingers wrapped tight around the handle and the handle dark and tacky with red. Her left hand is out of frame below, gripping the edge of a desk. She leans far forward over that desk toward the viewer, weight on her forearms, the white blouse pulling taut across her shoulders, the red ribbon tie hanging loose and swinging slightly forward, one navy pleat of her skirt creased where her hip presses the desk edge. Behind her the classroom is emptied and going dark: rows of desks receding in soft focus, a blackboard blurred to grey-green, tall windows on the right holding the last low orange dusk light that rakes across the side of her face and sets a thin warm line along the blade, while the room behind sinks into cool blue shadow; the only other light is a single fluorescent panel still humming overhead, and it throws her long shadow down the near desks toward the camera. The dusk light is what makes the blood read as wet rather than painted, its highlight a hard small point that sits on the bead at the tip and nowhere else. Palette limited to the white of the blouse, the navy of the skirt, the black of her hair and the room's blue shadow, with red as the only saturated accent -- ribbon, blood, the dusk rim. Quiet dread, unblinking.
