More to See

character: gyarados 1girl, 1 other, gyaru high school girl, gyarados, large serpentine sea dragon, blue scales, cream underbelly, red head crest, fangs, white fins, long whiskers, two figures, from below, wide shot, dutch angle, low angle, worm's-eye view, looking up, gyarados coiling overhead, girl leaning back on heels, arms half-raised, open mouth, excited grin, wide-eyed, looking up at gyarados, windswept hair, skirt flaring, sailor-style white short-sleeved button-up shirt, red ribbon tie, navy blue pleated skirt, white crew socks, brown leather loafers, tan gyaru complexion, bleach-lightened brown hair, loose wavy hair, glossy lips, dramatic sky, backlit by low sun, rim light, sea spray, harbor, harbor wall, concrete breakwater, no text, no speech bubble The camera sits low on the wet concrete of a harbor breakwater, tilted a few degrees off level, so both figures tower and lean at once. In the near foreground the gyaru high school girl stands with her weight rocked back onto her heels, spine arched, chin lifted; her left foot is planted flat on the damp concrete, her right toe only grazing it, and both arms are half-raised beside her shoulders, fingers spread and stiff, as the wind pushes her sleeves. Her tan complexion catches the low sun along one cheek and the bridge of her nose, her bleached-lightened brown hair whips across her face in loose strands, and her glossy lips are parted in a delighted, disbelieving shout, eyes wide and fixed upward on the creature. Above and across the frame the enormous serpentine sea dragon sweeps in a long S, its blue scaled body passing over her head from the upper left and curling down into the right middle ground; its cream underbelly is turned partly toward the camera, its red head crest cuts through the sky, and its white fins flare back along its flanks as it drives forward. One long whisker trails down near her shoulder, not touching. Its red eye is aimed down at her, and her face answers it: mouth open, brows high, an electric grin of awe. Behind them the harbor opens out — dark water ridged with wind chop in the lower left, a bank of storm-cloud grey stacked along the horizon, a few blocky distant buildings kept as simple illegible shapes in the far right background. The low sun sits just off-frame to the left, so every westward-facing surface glows: the girl's left arm and cheek, the dragon's crest and the leading edge of its scales, while the undersides fall into cool blue shadow. A fine haze of blown sea spray hangs in the air and catches the light in a bright veil between the two of them, and the wet concrete under her shoes shows a darker, softer smeared reflection of both silhouettes. Palette of deep marine blue, cream, hot red, and the raw concrete grey, nothing else. Exhilarating, wind-whipped.
