Beyond the sparkler's glow the darkness is nearly complete, so the beach simply falls away into night on either side of her, and the lavender and teal in the shadows keeps the cool scene from turning muddy; the detail budget goes to her hands, the hair strands between her fingers, the curling fabric over her right knee and the spark trail's individual falling embers.
