1girl, solo, wet clothes, soaking wet, wet hair, shiny hair, wet skin, water droplets, dripping, covered navel, sleeveless, red china dress, highleg, blue eyes, brown hair, wavy hair, sidelocks, hair over one shoulder, hair tied with scrunchie, hair sticking to face, lips, teeth, water running down face, looking at viewer, fountain, sun shower, sunlight through rain, outdoors, cowboy shot, from above, head tilt, parted lips, wet fabric clinging, sheer wet cloth, drenched, glistening, rain streaks in sunlight, courtyard, stone fountain, backlit spray From a high three-quarter angle looking down at her, she stands at the brim of a stone fountain in a rain-swept courtyard while the sun blazes straight through the shower. She is caught just after the spray has swung across her: the red china dress is soaked through, its sleeveless highleg cut painted to her body by the wet cloth, the covered navel panel darkened and clinging, a translucent hem heavy with water at her hip and running in a thin thread off the point. Her wet skin carries a fine sheen everywhere the rain has broken over it, brighter on her shoulders and cheekbones; a single rivulet descends from her temple, tracks the side of her nose, and hangs at the corner of her lower lip before falling. Her lips are parted a little, wet and glossed with rain, a sliver of white teeth showing; her blue eyes fix directly on the viewer, chin tipped up and head tilted toward the lens so the warm light catches each lash. Her brown hair has been pulled into a scrunchie at one side and the wavy mass is swept over her far shoulder, but the rain has undone it: the long sidelocks are plastered flat along her cheeks and jaw, one damp lock stuck to her face across the cheekbone, each soaked strand catching a hard shine along its edge, and water beads gather into larger drops and fall from the hair ends and elbow. The fountain is the support and the source of the spray, its mottled stone rim beaded and dark under her weight, overflow sluicing down the steps behind her hip. One of her hands rests flat on the warm stone, weight shifted into that wrist and her near hip; the other arm is raised, fingers at the scrunchie, frozen in the gesture of an adjustment not quite finished, wrist bent and elbow forward. Behind her the courtyard recedes in broad shallow steps into a hedge-lined plaza, distant and simplified, and the shower comes down through a sky you can still see blue. The sun is the light source, low and behind her right shoulder, so it ignites every hanging drop from inside, edging the spray in gold while the fountain's back rim falls into a deep shadow band, and her own long shadow stretches across the wet paving toward the viewer's feet, still unbroken by any cloud. The shower of sunlit rain falls unceasingly around her figure, each drop lit rather than gray, giving the air a bright, shimmering veil. The palette holds to warmed red, sunlit gold and wet dark brown, with the fountain's cool grey-green stone left mostly in shadow. Sparkling, sun-drenched.
