His torso drives forward, his blue sailor-collared white shirt rucked up from the jolt, his blue pleated skirt and black-pantyhosed legs kicking up high behind him so the loafers on his feet point at the sky, one loafer half-off at the heel from the whip of the kick. Both arms flail wide, elbows bent, fingers splayed, one hand flung up past his cheek and the other thrown out toward the ground as if only now remembering it should break the fall. His face is turned toward the viewer in exaggerated comic shock: eyes wide with the whites fully visible, brows shot up, mouth open in a round yell, three cartoon sweat drops flying off his temple and cheek, hair swept forward past his face in the direction of the fall. A single yellow banana peel — peel only, hollow and empty, no fruit attached — spins through the air near his kicked-up feet, its flaps splayed from the spin. On the pavement just below and ahead of him lies his smartphone flat on its back, screen toward the sky and clearly shattered, a web of cracks radiating from one corner with bright glints on the fracture lines. Bold dynamic motion lines rake around his body in the direction of travel, and a short scuff arc marks the spot on the pavement where the peel had been. Bright, clean vector-like cartoon illustration with flat saturated fills, crisp hard edges and exaggerated comedic proportions — a head slightly too large, limbs slightly too long. Playful daylight comes from the upper right, casting small crisp shadows under the phone and the flying peel and a soft compressed shadow beneath his chest. In the upper left corner sits a traditional Japanese omikuji fortune stamp: a white rectangular seal with a thin red border holding bold dark red calligraphy reading "大凶", printed on aged vintage paper texture with a slightly worn, grainy stamp edge. Bright, buoyant, slapstick.
