The two colossal wings are half-furled and lifted, tattered membrane torn into ragged fingers along the trailing edges; glowing cosmic veins run through the membrane in a branching constellation, brightest at the wing roots and thinning to faint threads near the rips. The tips of the wings stay inside the frame. Overhead the sky is deep crimson, and the pale blood moon hangs behind the creature's left wing, so the wing membrane blots out a piece of the disc and a thin crimson halo bleeds around its edge.
