character: todoroki_shoto, copyright: boku_no_hero_academia todoroki shoto, 1boy, solo, boku no hero academia, short hair, two-tone hair, split-color hair, white hair, red hair, hair between eyes, heterochromia, blue eye, grey eye, burn scar over left eye, teary eyes, moist eyes, crying, crying face, tears, streaming tears, pained expression, suffering, furrowed brows, trembling lips, sitting, seiza, slumped posture, sitting on bed, hands on bed, arm support, looking up, looking at viewer, imploring, pleading, reaching out, outstretched hand, from above, diagonal angle, close-up, indoor, bedroom, dorm room, hero school setting, uniform, collared shirt, dim lighting, blue palette, anguished, intimate The camera looks down from above at a steep diagonal, close on one figure alone in a cramped dormitory room; the angle makes him small and makes the bed the whole floor of the picture. Shoto Todoroki sits slumped on the bed in a broken seiza — shins and knees flattened into the mattress, hips slid off the heels, torso folded forward off the spine so his shoulders cave in and his chin drops. The duvet yields under his knees in two deep dips with a ridge of fabric pushed up between them, and his weight sits mostly on the left hip, the left forearm braced across the mattress with the elbow locked, the hand knuckled into a crease of the sheet. His uniform collared shirt is half untucked from the waistband and pulled crooked at the neck, sleeves shoved to the elbows; one knee has knocked the pillow askew behind him. His head is tilted back to face the lens — a short, uneven mop of hair, white on the right side and red on the left, strands falling between his eyes and sticking at his wet cheeks. The burn scar covers the whole left side of his face around a grey left eye; the right eye is blue. Both eyes are brimming, lower lids swollen and shining, lashes clumped into wet points, one fat tear breaking loose down the right cheek and another running into the crease of the scar, a thin wet track shining along his jaw. His brows are dragged up at the inner ends and pinched hard, mouth pulled open in a shaking grimace, teeth showing, chin trembling, breath short. He is looking up straight into the viewer's eyes as if clinging to them, and his right arm reaches up out of the frame's lower edge toward the camera, fingers spread and hooked, knuckles pale with strain — the gesture stops short of the lens and stays there. Above and behind him, the room is dark except for a narrow band of hallway light through the door crack: it strikes the white side of his hair, the wet shine of both eyes, the wet track on his cheek and the ridge of the duvet, while the rest of the bed and the walls sink into cold blue-black. Palette: the bed, walls and shadows in desaturated blue-grey, his red hair and the warm skin tones the only warm notes, the hallway light a thin sodium-yellow. The tear cuts a wet line through the drying salt on his skin and darkens the sheet where it falls. Quiet, intimate anguish.
