character: hilda_valentine_goneril, marianne_von_edmund, copyright: fire_emblem:_three_houses two girls, 2girls, marianne von edmund, hilda valentine goneril, short blue hair, crown braid, braid, brown eyes, pink hair, long hair, twintails, pink eyes, pajamas, night, indoors, couch, sitting, both legs stretched out, legs extended forward, bare feet, soles of feet, soles facing viewer, foot focus, foreshortening, pov, from below, hilda tickling marianne's feet, fingers on soles, tickling, hilda smiling, open mouth smile, happy, playful expression, delighted, one eye closed, marianne squirming, ticklish, clenched hands, gripping couch cushion, head tilted back, laughing, blush, teary eyes, toes curled, warm lamp light, dark room, speech bubble, spoken_heart, heavy_breathing, From a low camera angle near the floor, the viewer looks up and slightly forward across the seat of a deep, overstuffed nocturnal couch: the shot is built around the soles of Marianne's bare feet, held in the near foreground and pushed toward the lens in blunt foreshortening, the two pale heel-pads the largest shapes in the frame while her ankles and shins recede away from the camera. Marianne sits far back against the couch cushions, spine pressed into the fabric, both legs stretched straight out along the seat toward the viewer, knees together and slightly bent; her soles face the lens flat-on, toes splayed apart, the near foot stacked a half-hand's width lower and closer than the far one so their outlines overlap without touching. She wears soft, long-sleeved pajamas in a muted dove-grey with tiny buttons up the front and loose trousers gathered at the ankle, and the hems have ridden up her shins with the stretch. Her short blue hair is loose around her ears, the crown braid still braided in a rope over the top of her head and slipping slightly askew; her face is turned three-quarters away toward Hilda's shoulder, chin lifted and head tipped back into the cushion, brown eyes squeezed shut with the tears starting at the outer corners, mouth wide open mid-laugh, a hot pink flush across nose and cheeks. Her hands are not idle: both fists clutch the couch cushion at her hips, knuckles pale, thumbs dug in, and the fabric dimples under her grip. Hilda sits to Marianne's right, turned in toward her with one hip planted on the cushion and her near leg folded under her so she is leaning across the gap; her body is angled in profile toward Marianne, head tipped down over the offered feet with an easy, delighted open-mouthed grin and one eye squeezed shut in a wink of pure enjoyment, a pink flush high on her cheeks. Her pink hair is still in its long twintails, loosened for the night and spilling over her shoulder, one tail falling across her forearm as she works. She wears pajamas too, a warm rose-tinged two-piece with a soft collar, a buttoned short-sleeved top and loose shorts, cuffs and hem slightly wrinkled from sitting. Her near hand is the working hand: fingertips splayed and digging in light, quick scratches right across the ball of Marianne's nearer foot, just under the toes, her thumb braced at the arch; her other hand rests warm around Marianne's ankle to hold the leg steady, thumb pressed into the tendon above the heel. Her gaze is fixed down on the soles she is tormenting, and Marianne's whole body answers it, one heel kicking a short involuntary jerk against Hilda's palm. The room is a dormitory common room at night, medium scale and intimate: behind the couch a tall dark window shows nothing but night and one distant pinpoint of a lamp across the courtyard, a curtain half drawn; a low side table to the right holds a single glass of water with a wet ring beneath it and a soft folded blanket slipping to the floor. The only light source is a small amber table lamp set low and behind the couch on the left, so the light comes from behind and above Marianne's shoulder, raking down the tops of her outstretched feet and leaving the arches and the undersides of her toes in cool grey shadow; a soft, warm pool of light falls on the cushion and dies out into the corners of the room, where darkness is total. Palette restricted to amber lamp-gold, deep blue-black night, dove-grey and rose pajama fabrics, with skin kept pink-warm and the blue of Marianne's hair the single cool note. Couch fabric shows the compression where Marianne's weight presses the cushion down and a seam line rippling where her heel has pushed it. A small speech bubble floats beside Hilda's face at the upper right, its tail curling down toward her, containing one hand-drawn heart and nothing else. Quiet, giddy, conspiratorial.
