From her rump, at the lower right of the frame, the feathered tail of the tranquilizing dart stands up out of the muscle of her hip, the needle sunk deep, the tufted fletching cocked at a slight angle and trembling faintly, and right around the puncture a damp, darker patch of fur is matted down and flattened where the drug went in. Her orange eyes are open but the lids are heavy and half-lowered, turned up at the lens, showing equal parts fury and the slow slide of the sedative; the pupils are small and hard in the amber.
