The Tribal Hag & Her Skull Staff

There's something hauntingly captivating about this tribal shaman design that I just can't look away from. The contrast between her terrifying, sharp-toothed grin and the intricate, bone-adorned staff really brings this dark fantasy world to life for me. If she spooked you in a good way, please leave a like and follow for more dark arts! I'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments below.

solo, 1girl, full body, standing, night hag, middle-aged woman in her fifties, gaunt skeletal thin body, slightly hunched posture, grey pale skin, deep wrinkles, hollow cheeks, long messy tangled black hair, solid black eyes, black sclera, black lips, open grinning mouth, sharp jagged shark teeth, evil nightmarish expression, menacing glare, long fingers, sharp black claws, tattered tribal clothing, ragged torn cloth, bloodstained fabric, blood splatters, bone jewelry, bone talisman necklace, skull pendant, beaded charms, bone hair ornaments with small bones and feathers, holding staff, crooked gnarled wooden staff, staff wrapped in bandages, hanging talismans on staff, skeleton skull on staff top, glowing orb, dark fantasy, horror, macabre, death motifs, dynamic lighting, rim lighting, cinematic lighting, simple white background, isolated on white, from below, dutch angle, looking at viewer, grin, :d, parted lips, raised brow, vertical composition A low three-quarter camera looks up at a single gaunt woman in her fifties, tilted a few degrees into a dutch angle so the white field runs on a diagonal behind her. She is the whole frame from the crown of her head to the soles of her bare feet on the bleached ground, her body a narrow vertical: shoulders drawn forward and slightly hunched, spine bowed, the collarbones pushing through grey pale skin like tent pegs. Her weight sits on her left leg, that hip cocked high, right knee bent forward with the toes just touching down, so the whole skeletal frame leans in a slow drift toward the viewer. Skin is dry grey-pale with fine cracks in the creases, deep wrinkles stacked at the brow, at the corners of the black lips and at the throat, hollow cheeks sunk into shadow beneath the cheekbones; the jaw hangs slightly slack so the teeth show even at rest. Long black hair, tangled into ropes and loose wisps, falls past the shoulders on both sides and back down to the lower spine; strands are stuck to the temples and cling forward across one cheek. Small bones and a few dull feathers are knotted into the hair above the left ear. Eyes are solid pitch black from lid to lid, no sclera, no iris, catching two tiny white highlights from the key light; the brows are down and the black lips are pulled back into an open grin that bares jagged pointed teeth top and bottom, the corners of the mouth drawn wide with malice. A crooked gnarled wooden staff crosses her body diagonally. Her right hand grips it high, long fingers winding around the shaft with the black claws of three fingers digging visibly into the grain; her left hand grips it lower, thumb toward the top, the staff planted on the white ground so a soft grey shadow spreads from the butt of it across the floor. Bandage linen wraps the shaft in overlapping spirals, frayed at the ends; small hanging talismans, bone charms and bead strings dangle from the wrap and swing slightly out of vertical, showing which way the staff leans. At the top the staff forks into a root-like claw cradling a skeleton skull, and between the wood and the bone hangs a glowing magical orb, its cold light pooling in the skull's empty eye sockets and rimming the splintered wood from inside. She wears tattered tribal clothing: layered ragged cloth strips and torn hide over the chest and hips, edges frayed and hanging in loose threads, streaked and spattered with dried blood in dark red-brown patches, one sleeve torn away entirely. Around the neck a bone talisman necklace of strung vertebrae and carved plates sits above a beaded band of small charms, and a skull pendant hangs from it in front of the collarbones, swinging a little off-center as she leans. Ankles are bare, clawed feet flat on the white ground. The plain white background is seamless and empty, no horizon, no prop, no other figure. One strong cool key light from upper left and a warm low rim light behind her right shoulder cut her silhouette clean against the white; the rim picks out the edges of the loose hair, the bone charms and the ragged cloth, and every shadow she casts falls soft and grey directly under and behind her, darkest where the staff meets the floor. Palette is restricted to grey skin, black hair and cloth, bone ivory, the dark red of the bloodstains, and the cold blue-white of the orb. Sharp focus, detailed fabric weave and bone texture throughout, matte paint finish with crisp cel-edged shadow shapes. Pure malice, nightmarish.
