Story Chapter 14: Surrender

Haruka's heart nearly stopped when the knight's hand moved to the sword at his waist. The sight of his fingers tightening around the hilt was enough to make her panic. “W-Wait!” Haruka immediately raised both hands above her head, her palms open. “I surrender! I surrender!” Her voice trembled as she looked nervously toward the knight. “I don't have any weapons! I promise! I'm not here to hurt anyone!” She slowly shook her head, desperate to make herself understood. “I don't even know where I am! I don't know how I got here, and I certainly didn't come here to cause trouble!” The knight remained stern. “Turn around.” Haruka froze. “Turn… around?” “Yes. Slowly.” Haruka swallowed nervously. “O-Okay…” Keeping her hands raised, she reluctantly turned around. Her expression was filled with worry as she obeyed the knight's command, unsure of what would happen next. And with Haruka facing away from the knights, the chapter ends.
