Steampunk elf assault

When historians speak of the Steampunk Elf Wars, they often remember the great walking fortresses and the endless clouds of smoke that covered the battlefield. But victory was not always decided by the largest machine. Sometimes, it belonged to the fastest. The elves of the Ironwood Battalion were once dismissed by their enemies as graceful but fragile warriors. They lacked the physical strength of dwarven soldiers and the industrial numbers of human armies. Their answer was the Assault Exosuit. Unlike traditional armor, the Assault Model was not designed to replace the elf warrior. It was created to enhance what the elf already possessed: speed, precision, and instinct. Powered by a compact steam engine, hydraulic systems, and carefully balanced mechanical joints, the suit moved like an extension of the warrior herself. Pistons amplified her strikes, gears increased her movement, and steam pressure gave her the strength to carry weapons once thought impossible for an elf. Among the most famous pilots was Captain Lyra Vaelthorn, known as the "Swift Thorn." She never sought to become a walking fortress. She believed an elf's greatest weapon was not strength alone, but the ability to move where others could not. During the Siege of Blackforge Pass, Captain Lyra's Assault Exosuit crossed enemy lines before their cannons could adjust their aim. She disabled supply engines, destroyed artillery mechanisms, and vanished into the smoke before the enemy knew where she had been. The dwarven engineers built machines. The elves taught those machines how to dance. To this day, the Assault Model remains a symbol of speed, skill, and the belief that even the smallest warrior can challenge the greatest armies.
