Arcanum #2: The Priestess: in the waters of life appear the 2 columns of the temple of Isis, the white and the black, each with 4 capitals that indicate the 4 bodies of sin: physical, vital, astral and mental. In the upper part appears a teacher sitting between two larger columns. She is inside a temple facing us. She shows her left profile, her negative aspect. In her lap she holds a half-open book that is half covered by her cloak. This indicates to us that she is wisdom, she teaches the Kabbalah. On her chest she has the Ansata cross of the foundation of the tau cross. The cross on her bare chest means that its product, milk, indicates the virtues. The snake on her forehead indicates mastery, that is, that it is elevated. Above her head are the horns of the Sacred Bull Apis, husband of the divine cow. The horns internally symbolize the father and externally the psychological self. We also find the attributes of the calf. The circle instead is the serpent biting its tail and represents the cosmic mother, the sacred cow.
