The landscape is formed by gigantic fungi, massive primitive spore-bearing organisms, rotting mossy growths, and huge porous organic structures. Enormous mushroom-like life forms rise everywhere on thick pale stalks and swollen trunks riddled with holes, cavities, and decaying hollows. Their surfaces are wet, soft-looking, and partially decomposed, with sponge-like textures, mold stains, rotting patches, and damp discoloration. Their caps spread wide like diseased parasols, and their undersides are dense with heavy gills and fibrous hanging growths. The ground is covered with murky moss, decaying fungal mats, damp lichen, slime-like growths, and spreading colonies of primitive fern-like plants. The colors of the vegetation are unhealthy and contaminated: gray-green, olive, yellowed green, dirty brown, bluish gray, faded beige, and dull reddish-brown. Instead of fresh thriving greenery, the landscape feels overgrown with wet rot and strange fungal life. Large puffball-like spore bodies, cup-shaped fungus growths, bulbous sacs, and pale clustered fungal nodules appear throughout the foreground and middle distance. Many of the giant structures look neither like trees nor rocks, but like enormous living masses of fungus and decayed organic matter. Some rise as towering columns, some widen into shelf-like ledges, and some sag under the weight of moss, spores, and hanging filaments. Long wet strands of moss and fungal fibers dangle from elevated surfaces.
