He places the script under his arm. **Avdol:** "Well... if I'm going to perform a tragedy, I'd at least like a good curtain call." From backstage, **Joseph** pokes his head out. **Joseph:** "Wait, we get vacations after our parts end?" **Polnareff:** "Nobody told me there was a union!" Even **Dio** walks onto the stage, no longer menacing, still in costume. **Dio:** "Hold on... are *we* all actors?" The stage manager rings a bell. "Five minutes until Act Three!" Everyone groans in unison. Avdol looks at the audience, smiles knowingly, and straightens his cape. **Avdol:** "Very well." He raises one finger. "But after this play..." "...I'm taking the longest vacation imaginable." The curtain falls before anyone can ask what he means. It's a playful take because it treats the story like a stage play: everyone knows they're actors following a script, and Avdol's main concern isn't escaping the plot—it's whether he finally gets some time off once his role is over.
