Itō Yoiko AKA THG Yonaga

My first metahuman shipgirl from "The End of the Circus: A Tale of the Yizibajohei", this is the living kami of Tennō Heika Gunkan ("Warship of His Majesty the Heavenly Sovereign") Yonaga. Based on the namesake ship from the Peter Albano dime-store novel series The Seventh Carrier from the 1980s and 1990s, she shares some aspects with shipgirls of the Kantai Collection theme in that she is a living personification of an actual warship from the Second World War period made human. In TEOTC, the physical mass of her very hull was hyper-compressed into humanoid shape and merged into the synthetic body of a "battle doll", the creation of the second incarnation of the oldest metahuman battle line on that planet; this was done at the prompting of the first American shipgirl, the living kami of USS Long Beach CGN-9 AKA Naomi Haight-Ashbury. Fans of the 7CV universe will know that THG Yonaga was a converted and heavily modified Yamato-class battleship. As Yoiko herself would declare when being introduced: "Fifth of the Yamato-class, first commissioned into the service of Shōwa Tennō during a terrible time for all humanity, I am Yonaga. As the Hagakure always demands of all samurai, know my mind is tranquilized to earthly desires and I will always face the enemy with a clear soul, ready to embrace death if the Fates declare it is my time." The name Itō Yoiko comes from Itō Seiichi, which was THG Yamato's flag officer at the time of her final mission in 1945.
