USS Pictou

Shipgirl AI of USS Pictou, namesake of a fishing town on the Northumberland Strait coastline of Nova Scotia directly opposite from Prince Edward Island. As several of her sisters have done, she modelled herself after a ruddy Orion, a small diaspora of which moved to the Mayflower Province after first contact between the various Orionid species and Terrans in the mid-XXII Century before the Federation's foundation. Like other adopted ruddy Orions, her hair is naturally grown and not a wig. She perpetuates HMCS Pictou, a Flower-class corvette which served in World War Two. Pictou was created as the synthetic "soul" of a Sabre-class frigate, first woken and commissioned in 2363 with the hull formally welcomed into Starfleet in the standard "atmospheric entry pattern" ceremony which often makes engineers in the service QUITE nervous even when executed correctly. She served well in the Dominion War, participating in all the major battles and surviving through to final peace with a battered hull and a MUCH younger crew age-wise than when she started out. She would be paid off in 2379, getting an improved Sabre-class frigate as her second hull two years later. That hull would last until 2401 when she was forced to scuttle said hull during the Frontier Day incident before Borg-possessed crew could pilot the ship into a kamikaze run on Queenston Station itself! She would get a Da Vinci-class hull two years later. Like many of her fellow Nova Scotians, Pictou is a member of l'Ordre de Bon-Temps, the famous Order of Good Cheer founded in the winter of 1607 by French settlers at the habitation in Port-Royal in the province's Annapolis Valley. Forming part of the Good Cheer Flotilla, Pictou's standard assignment is to transport the necessary foods to the proposed dining site, her own replicators and actual galleys serving as one of the places where cookoffs occur to present quite the feast to the guests.
