From Digital Fantasy to Impasto Oil Painting
I originally created this underwater fantasy scene as a regular digital illustration, without an oil painting style. For this new test, I used the original image as a reference and asked Tsubaki.3 to reinterpret the same composition as an impasto oil painting. I specifically described thick paint texture, visible brushstrokes, raised paint surfaces, palette knife strokes, and directional brushwork following the flow of the hair, while keeping the face and eyes clear. I also asked the lighting to reveal the texture and relief of the paint, especially across the water, moonlight, hair, coral, shell, and background. I was really surprised by the result. Tsubaki.3 managed to preserve the original underwater scene while completely changing its visual language, making it feel much closer to a physical painting created with thick layers of oil paint.

- Original Prompt
- Use the attached image as the main visual reference and preserve the original underwater composition and all key elements. Reinterpret the image as a high-texture impasto oil painting with extremely visible traditional oil paint materiality. Thick paint texture, visible brushstrokes, heavy oil paint, raised paint surface, bold impasto brushwork, palette knife strokes, sculptural paint texture, tactile paint surface, dimensional paint texture, broken color brushstrokes, and streaks of unmixed paint must be clearly visible across the artwork. Keep the pink-haired underwater girl, the moon seen through the water above, the beams of light, the jellyfish, the open shell with a pearl, and the surrounding pastel coral environment. Apply layered paint strokes following the hair flow, thick oil brushstrokes in the hair, raised highlights on hair strands, thick paint on the translucent fins and clothing, palette knife textures in the coral and shell, and swirling painterly texture in the water and moonlit background. The lighting should emphasize the impasto: side lighting revealing paint texture, highlights on raised brushstrokes, tiny shadows in thick paint ridges, dimensional relief under moonlit underwater light. Keep the face elegant and readable with sharp eyes, soft facial features, and thick painterly strokes around the face, not obscuring the expression. The background should feel like a textured oil painting background, not a smooth digital underwater scene. Make the whole image feel like a physical painted canvas with lush traditional oil paint depth and visible hand-painted energy.
