Tomoe Mami AKA Tavestire

She is the first of the would-be Puella Magi being targeted by the Incubators to be counter-targeted by an alliance of magic users from Yiziba and elsewhere to be Gifted; note that the term "pure chaos" is the Yizibajohei euphemism for magic. In becoming Gifted - atop receiving the collected memories of two dozen and more previous holders of the Gift of Travestire, bestowing Mami quite unparalleled combat knowledge - it shields her from the effective soul-splitting making a wish to become a Puella Magi would force on the person; for those who made the contract with an Incubator like Kyubey, the Gifting literally replicates a second soul from the would-be eldritch witch forming within a Puella Magi's soul gem, returns the original soul to the body, then allows the would-be eldritch witch a chance to be Gifted herself. As Mami was Gifted well before she met anyone like Kyubey, she didn't get a twin sister out of the deal. Since her Gifting, Mami has engaged in her own "casting drive" quest to seek out other would-be Puella Magi to save them from the Incubators. She's enjoyed quite the level of success in doing so as will be revealed elsewhere.
