💜💗💜💗💜 Story 💗💜💗💜💗 When he got off work, night had already blanketed the entire city. Kamui Gakupo walked out of the company building with his briefcase on his shoulder, glancing up at the streetlights that had already switched on. He was running a bit later than usual again today. He'd originally planned to head straight home, but he stopped in his tracks when he passed a familiar fork in the road. The little path leading up to the hillside shrine was right there beside him. He rarely went out of his way to take a detour after work, but for some reason today, he suddenly felt like walking over to take a look. "I'll take a quick walk before heading back." Gakupo murmured, then made his way up the stone steps. The shrine was very quiet at night. Wind rustled through the treetops, leaves whispering softly, and the lanterns lining the stone steps cast a gentle glow. He was simply walking along in silence, until he passed by the side of the shrine and suddenly came to a stop. His gaze had landed on a small patch of shadow beside the low wall. A cat lay there. Gakupo frowned slightly and stepped closer. It was an exceptionally beautiful long-haired cat. Pink fur covered most of her body, soft white fur woven in between—what should have been a strikingly beautiful appearance now looked utterly wretched. She was curled up on the cold ground. Not moving at all. Her fur was caked with dirt, with several visible wounds, and her leg appeared to be injured as well. "...A cat?" Gakupo crouched down. He didn't reach out to touch her right away, just observed carefully. No sound. No opening of eyes. Not even any reaction to flee. He leaned in a little closer before finally noticing the extremely faint rise and fall of her chest. "She's still alive." Gakupo's expression turned serious at once. This cat had clearly lost consciousness. He looked up and around. There was no one near the shrine. No owner, and no clue of any kind explaining why she had ended up here. Gakupo first took out his phone to contact a nearby animal hospital, explaining that he'd found an injured, unconscious cat, while also completing the necessary report to check whether anyone was searching for a missing pet.
