Deep in the Indian jungle, Shanti encountered Kaa the python; with no one like Mowgli around to save her in the nick of time, she was swallowed whole by the enormous, gluttonous serpent. Yet, she did not panic, knowing she wouldn't stay in his belly forever—sooner or later, Kaa would clumsily spit her out, or a friend would arrive and force him to release her. In the meantime, she lounged calmly inside Kaa's comfortable belly, waiting to be spat out upon rescue or to escape on her own from the gluttonous python's stomach.
