拓跋力微 Tuoba Liwei

My take on Tuoba Liwei, the legendary chieftain of the Tuoba/Tabgach tribe of Xianbei. No one knows what he truly looked like, so this is more of a historical imagination piece than a strict reconstruction. I tried to give him the distinctive braided "Suotou"(rope-braid) look later associated with the Tuoba. Later accounts credit him with an astonishing 58-year reign and a lifespan of 104 years—improbable, but not so impossible that the story loses all force. In one tradition, he is a wise ruler who turned from raiding toward cooperation with the dynasties of the Central Plains; in another, he is a dangerous northern rival whose rise was broken through deception and the destruction of his succession.
