1girl, solo, adult woman, voluptuous body, large breasts, curvy figure, long wavy chestnut hair, loose ponytail, hair tied back with stray locks at the cheek, warm brown eyes, white ribbed crop top, tight-fitting, short denim daisy duke shorts, barefoot, bare legs, kitchen, cooking rice, rice pot, wooden cooking spoon, steam, discovering leaking water pipe, looking down, surprised expression, wide-eyed, open mouth, one eyebrow raised, leaning forward, from above, dutch angle, cowboy shot, warm kitchen light, tile floor, wet floor, water droplets, single light source, positive absence: no jewelry, no earrings, no hair ornaments, hair completely unadorned, uncluttered scene, single subject, no extra people, no text, no speech bubbles, no signage
The camera looks down from above and slightly to the side in a gentle dutch tilt, a cowboy shot cropping the woman at mid-thigh so she fills the upper two-thirds of a small domestic kitchen. She stands at the counter turned three-quarters away from the pot toward the base cabinet under the sink: her weight is on her back right foot, the left foot lifted onto its toes and pivoted inward, her right hip cocked, her torso pitched forward and twisted down at the waist, so the tight white ribbed crop top pulls across her chest and rides up a finger's width above the waistband of the short denim daisy duke shorts. Her left hand still grips the wooden cooking spoon loosely by the handle, the spoon tipped down and forgotten; her right hand is reaching for the cabinet knob but has stopped short, fingers splayed and hovering an inch from the wood. Her chin is lowered, her gaze fixed on the thin jet of water arcing out from the corroded joint of the copper water pipe under the cabinet, and her brows are lifted high with the surprise: wide brown eyes, mouth fallen open around a breath she hasn't finished, a faint flush risen on her cheeks. The loosened ponytail has swung forward over her left shoulder and one wavy strand hangs across her jaw.
The rice pot sits behind her on the gas burner at the left edge of the frame, lid ajar, steam curling up and greying the glass of the small window above it. The leak is the revealer: a hairline crack at the pipe's elbow throws a narrow bright thread of water sideways, it splashes against the inside of the open cabinet door and runs down in a dark glassy sheet, and the tile floor beneath is already wet, a shallow puddle spreading in a fan and catching a broken reflection of the ceiling bulb and of her bare right foot planted just outside its edge. A single warm ceiling bulb is the only light source; it strikes the top of her head, the ridge of her shoulder, the lid of the pot and the wet tile, and leaves the underneath of the counter, the cabinet interior and the corners of the room in deep brown shadow. The palette is confined to warm honeyed bulb light, white ceramic and copper, pale denim blue, and the cool grey-green of the wet tile, with the water's reflection the only cold note. Domestic, abruptly alert.
