Try to convince me that this site is actually worthwhile. ONE: Lack of engagement. That is actually less referring to hearts, but any form of discussions to genuinely exchange thoughts about your ideas - instead of clout-chasing or blatantly avoiding the main focus which in many cases is nothing more but the implicit or explicit sexual indications. It's just a bit disappointing and makes it even less fun to put up with tags, pic descriptions - or the clunky site in general. But maybe it's also because it's so quick and easy to flood the site with pics that it's just more interesting to move on to the next pics. - TWO: The AI struggles with more unique prompts. It does a good job of fleshing out the scenery, but when I line out what I want, it should try to fulfill those requests - and instead it quickly deteriorates. Even using an overbearing amount of alternate keywords / phrases all at once does only lead to mild improvements at best. At the same time it adds unwanted features which you have to try to work against with extra prompts, only increasing the risk they get misread, if not ignored outright. - THREE: The broken NSFW toggle and lack of filter warning. It's a thing in the content settings - but it only allows you to see "legacy" NSFW content. New works will stay invisble regardless. This makes it only more devastating when you post stuff, put effort into tags and even a description - only to have to check manually afterwards to learn it's regarded as "Sensitive" and you've just wasted your time. It sure would have helped if I got warned beforehand instead. And an explanation for the decision would also be very dandy. - FOUR: The filter and content moderation. The filter and moderators tend to make some mind-boggling decisions. I have seen some pics and comments I'd decisively view as questionable (e.g. "Get rid of yourself" comments) which just... thrive, even after flagging them, while some things that should be less demeaning get struck down due to arbitrary rules. You'd also have no option to explain why something should be seen as offensive, so you have to hope the generic bulletpoint you choose is good enough to make it clear. I have two pics (similar to my fourth oldest pic: "Non-sensitive" mummy) that got regarded as sensitive, even after an appeal, which now permanently locks them out of any future attempts to lift their restriction. Specifically those two I would call absolutely harmless - compared to many other, thematically similar pics you could find on here with no effort at all. And considering some valid criticism on content sexualising younger characters apparently got moderated, instead of those pics themselves, it all just highlights how blatantly unfair this system is. But it looks like I've misunderstood what's been happening in at least one instance because: - FIVE: Blocking (AKA closing your ears). After one of my few attempts to post valid concerns regarding a picture's content my comment got removed. A second comment led to a block by the user which now prevents me from interacting with - let alone finding - any of their content. Not that PixAI saw any reason to notify me about that and instead left me quite confused why I couldn't comment (which it only tells me when I try to send, not already while typing a message, of course) or why their profile looked scrubbed clean. Now the only thing I have access to is the one picture I gave a heart for bookmarking reasons (this site really lacks options, you know?). That is, without a doubt, a shocking amount of power users have just to make sure their questionable content is "safe" from "evil critics" that touch a nerve - all while they're free to create spicy showcases of a young, helpless character. And just because the oddly specific parts of them are covered up doesn't make it okay... unless you're a content moderator (bot?) who does not see anything wrong with that. To add to the hilarity: A block can not be done both ways. So if they decide to unblock me and use that moment to cause havoc on my profile just to block me again afterwards, I have no way to prevent that. It feels like "Rules for thee, not for me." Even ignoring the flawed, if not broken features: This system just strengthens an uncritical if not hostile environment where double standards are rampant due to blind adherence to some arbitrary rules. As such I am at a serious risk of dropping out of engaging with anything at all. If I do feel like generating and were in need of more resources, I could always throw out pics I know will be regarded as sensitive; nobody would get to see them while I'd still get resources. Though I also wouldn't be surprised if I gave up on this site entirely. Society prevents people from maturing by treating natural parts of our bodies as something to be ashamed of. By themselves they shouldn't be problematic. No, the bad thing is when people actively sexualise anything with surreal and depraved fantasies. Because I can guarantee you: A conveniently obscured figure with painfully oversized features and a disturbingly aroused expression will always get more and also more questionable attention than a simply nude model. --- Wrap enthusiast who wants sexual tension to usually be only a minor part of the greater picture, if at all. Has a lot of concerns for most AI sites they've been on, including this one. And that is ignoring how data-intensive this site appears to be with slowdowns when merely loading or navigating a page. Still dares to use an ancient laptop for it regardless - which had even led to browser crashes. Tends to only hang around in phases; has been active around 2023 (with deleted alt accounts) and for a short burst in 2026. The site - even after trying out all the "Content Settings" - seems to filter out all content that got - sometimes rather inconsistently - rated as "sensitive". Certainly doesn't help my attempts to explore my more personal interests or make my generations easy to find (even if I'm fine with the latter). The search function also sorts exclusively by latest and still throws in irrelevant results (especially for search requests with - gasp - two words... or even more!). Even for "regular" content it's not that fun to search for anything, ESPECIALLY since the bizarre reward system incentivises free users (like me) to throw out pics, no matter the quality. It'll just fill the already poor to navigate site with bloat. Why waste credits for one, potentially bad pic for an expensive challenge when you could try out prompts for several pictures instead? Especially when you're always at risk of wasting resources on an attempt. You never know which prompts might get ignored altogether, even if only by accident. And it's not like I know what options would work best for me anyways. Or at all, if I'm unlucky! But hey, I could always gamble with higher resource stakes to maybe get better results, right? Searching for Models and LoRAs in the generator is clunky and doesn't show all the results, very likely not even due to the sensitivity filter. Thanks for forcing me into a detour by using the normal search function to find and add them that way. The bookmarking feature also doesn't seem to work properly either. I miss some pics I made that now are left on throwaway accounts, just so I could generate more stuff before I learned how to optimise resource management. ...which is a bit draining, especially when avoiding the vague benefits of "high priority", so I'm generating even less anyways. I wonder if that was the idea, because you won't get me to pay. I'm doing this for fun, not to become a contemporary AI-"Artist" (of course that's this site's term for their users...). And paying still wouldn't fix many inconveniences. There's no indicator how long the process will take either way, especially since without priority it could take most of the day - or mere minutes. Then again, it seems orders get cancelled after a full day of waiting, maybe; not sure if they get refunded though. I had that happen - and when I retried with "high priority", they suddenly generated something immediatly. Lovely trolling you have going there. Speaking of funds: The daily rewards you can miss out on are also a bit irksome since you have to claim them manually: If you post stuff, you have to remember to check in to even get them, exclusively found on the "Daily" tab on your profile. Rewards from likes will also be only claimable until 12 AM UTC (I think), so you better hope those hearts come in early - or you're around just before the deadline. Those like rewards are measly, so it's not that important, but still... You could probably also just make an alt account to like 20 of your pics, un-like them, then repeat the process each day, if you feel those gains are a necessity. Only the "Daily Quest" (you logged in, what a daunting quest!) tends to show up automatically... sometimes... I got on civit(dot)ai during my break here - until that platform changed too much. PixAI's insistence to filter, if not get rid of pics and models I would want to discover, had pushed me away for a while, generation attempts seemed forcibly adjusted to avoid whatever they didn't like. And then that other site got more stingy and even more restrictive over time. Now, back here, (almost?) everything seems to be fair game again for generation, but might get categorised as "sensitive", which - again - seems completely inaccessible by other users at the moment. I would like to believe my preferences are not anywhere near as "troublesome" as a lot of blatant ("Use Your Imagination", everyone!) and/or graphic content (see next paragraph), where the focus is clearly just the one thing most people seem to care about. And the added objectification will not only add onto how the AI handles sexual tension for future artworks, when that's not necessarily the focus: That kind of art is only going to make interactions in real life more awkward, making people either more ashamed... or more unhinged. It would be helpful if the filter told me what it was unhappy about, ideally during or even before the publishing process. It is rather amusing that highly aroused characters can get through, when pictures with less (or perhaps even no) explicit tension get filtered, just because you can see nipples (which are not sexual by themselves, mind you, just a natural part of a human body). At the same time I have seen a lot of scenes with a lot of involvement of the other, more problematic women's area, ideally with specific tags as well, which managed to stay; maybe they're from a different era and therefor earned legacy rights, but still: Absolutely nonsensical system that only rarely gets properly adjusted later. Just look at the picture of Mikoto Misaka I bookmarked in my "Likes" tab... where my critical concerns about sexualising a clearly underaged character got removed until the user just blocked me. Without PixAI even willing to notify me - or seeing a problem with that form of censorship. Plus: It's unfair that blocking only works one way. Sometimes I have similar pictures where one is okay, yet the other one isn't - and I can not even come up with any reasons for as to why. I might try to send an appeal for some pics or re-generate then with adjusted prompts. But I'm not looking forward to it, since it still feels like playing the lottery; I do not know what to look out for and prompts still tend to - again - get overlooked. And with the filter being so inconsistent, that effort could still go to waste. I mean, I've often seen suggested tags that misinterpret a certain element, because it looks like e.g. transparent sheets of plastic on or close to skin might get rated as bodily fluids like sweat - and more suggestive ones. Same feels true for poses, even when nothing else would suggest something more explicit. The ways people can and try to approach exciting fantasies while attempting to avoid being explicit in oddly specific ways makes this site in general feel immature (even if I'm used to more, perhaps even quite mindboggling limitations on other AI sites). I will not waste my time following this tsundere approach to sexuality - unlike others that would rather embrace it than having to give up on the site completely. If you're fine with exploring your interests by bashfully brushing against them throughout your continuous stay - incentivised to get expanded if you happened to have paid for this not very community-friendly service - via e.g. those officially endorsed eggplant blob monsters: That's on you. Mio.2 had been a helpful assistant to flesh out basic ideas, though apparently those resources were one-time only. A shame, since I'd feel like it could and did help me a lot: It fleshed out ideas, offered alternative settings that turned out quite fascinating and I still tend to work with those concepts I had gotten in those couple pics long ago. But now I can't even use it for chats to explore new ideas or help me with prompts to evolve past those ideas. I can't even pay with the mountain of Credits I have stockpiled; I do not enjoy the painfully slow and perhaps still fruitless approaches by adjusting prompts when it's clear the AI is struggling. Maybe, as the filthy scrooge I am, I should go back to throwaway accounts... Also: The site's concerns about "are they 18+?" are a joke. Age and physical appearance don't always match, not even in real life, and only get diluted with cartoony artstyles even more - and they don't stop people from generating or even successfully publishing content with kids, clearly discernable pre-teens, in fetish settings, even if(!) they are kept mild. And don't get me started on potential loopholes like they're secretely unaging or whatever. Hilariously enough, I'm now actually very inclined to lean towards restrictions in that regard (they were in place back in 2023 and got to e.g. what is currently my profile pic), just so way too many people get affected and hopefully get to realise they have been flaming a certain niche - which they secretely are into themselves... Hopefully, returning to here is worth it still / again, despite this wall of text, because I've been starting to change my mind again after just a few weeks. Chances are I'll might drop into perchance(dot)org. Sure, its capabilites are more basic (e.g. no LorAs) and sharing is pointless (even if their community moderation wasn't weird), but the results for my simple characters are okay enough for me and it's not constrained by resources, with consistently short wait times on top. You also don't even need an account, so it's perfect to try out for yourself. It even seems to have a built-in feature to make sure too young-looking characters keep their decency. While you might be able to argue about the perceived age at which it draws the line, that is honestly a much better solution than how this site pretends to tackle that issue. Oh, and I'm very hesitant about joining any community groups, especially off-site. I'd only be active briefly at best anyways and I don't like the closed culture those places may cultivate. I'm generally iffy about sending traffic (and therefor public attention) elsewhere, especially when you have to dangle a "big" Credit reward for doing so in front of me. Same is true for those "limited time only" pranks, that want to pressure people into parting with their money, while they keep popping up over and over eventually. It's disappointing what slowly got normalised in our society. So, how about a "call to action" as the ending? I mentioned that eggplant blob before. Good to know other cultures also try to rely on poor analogies, diluting the feelings towards the things they are really about. It's getting so abstract that those couldn't even turn me on and - since I'm not exactly alone with that - will harm real-life experiences as well ...if you haven't already given up on them completely due to the skewed sense of sexuality you likely have gotten from places like this one. I think this is a highly interesting topic to talk about, but online you could only do it in niche spaces, and even there it feels at best more depressing than anything else. And that is when the discussion is still not too narrow-minded. Ideally, you should talk to someone in real life and the two (or more) of you should realise how much you had gotten secretely influenced. And if that's something you can talk about together without automatically wanting to "share a pleasant night" - then you should absolutely cherish the bond you have.
