Viewed from behind and slightly below, two figures fill the frame with their backs squarely to the camera, both bent forward from the hips so their torsos run nearly horizontal while their legs stay vertical, the white-haired elf on the left and the purple-haired girl on the right, neither face visible, only the turn of a cheek and the outer corner of an eye at the very edge of each profile as both look away down the path ahead of them. The elf's long white-grey hair is gathered into two low twintails that hang forward over her shoulders and swing free of her back, her parted bangs and long pointy elf ears catching the light, a teardrop earring hanging from each lobe and a thin gold chain at her throat; she wears a short white capelet over a white dress with long sleeves, a striped under-layer showing at the hem and cuffs, her hips wide and her thighs thick inside pale pantyhose that run down into soft leather boots, her staff angled back under her right arm, its butt end planted in the dirt beside her boot as a brace. The girl beside her leans equally deep, blunt bangs and straight purple sidelocks falling forward off her bowed head, her long coat hanging open away from her back over a shirt, her own wide hips and full chest pulling the coat's seams taut, one boot heel lifted off the ground. Their shoulders almost touch; the elf's twintail tips brush the other girl's coat sleeve. The staff is the revealer: its shaft flexes a hair where her grip loads it, and the heel of her boot has pressed a clean crescent into the damp leaf litter. Late afternoon sun comes low from the left, laying a long double shadow of the two of them across the path ahead and rimming the capelet's edge and the coat's collar in warm light while their backs fall into cool shade. Palette of white, cream, dove grey and violet against moss green and brown earth. Quiet, companionable.
