The reality is that warmongers despise the majority of political leaders as fops and fools, weaklings who can never understand the glories of soldiery - the rare exceptions are kindred spirits and greeted with much delight. Many warmonger genies fancy themselves as profound philosophers; appealing to this conceit often brings respect from the genie.
In battle, though the warmonger genie is a competent fighter in its own right, they are more dangerous for their ability to augment the fighting efficacy of the men under their command.
