Framed from below at an unsettling Dutch angle, a petite blonde girl leans forward into the dark, tilting her head sideways with a playful, unnerving intensity. Her bright blonde side ponytail cascades over one shoulder from beneath a ruffled white mob cap cinched with a crimson ribbon, while her wide, luminous crimson eyes lock directly onto the viewer with a knowing, crooked smirk that shows a single sharp canine. She wears a crisp white short-sleeved blouse with puffed shoulders under a fitted blood-red vest and a neat crimson ascot tied at the throat, above a pleated red skirt trimmed with white ruffled lace. Arising from her shoulder blades are two angular black branch-like wings, from which faceted, tear-shaped crystals of rainbow hues hang suspended; having just halted mid-step, the suspended crystals still sway slightly from inertia, casting subtle prismatic refractions against her back and the trailing frills of her skirt. Her right hand hovers near her jaw with fingers curled in a delicate claw-like gesture, while her left arm rests lightly beside her hip. A harsh, stark key light strikes the left plane of her face, throat, and ruffled cuffs, leaving the right side cast in deep, heavy graphic shadow bounded by pronounced, thick black contour outlines. The background dissolves into a pitch-black vignette textured with faint halftone dot patterns and drifting luminous flecks. Dark, eerie, and deceptively whimsical.
