Her torso reclines comfortably against a secondary fork in the trunk, upper body propped up on one elbow with her palm bracing against the mossy bark, while her opposite hand rests limply over her midriff. Her black hair is gathered into two high buns beside a small, tilted black tokin hat accented with red cords and white pompoms, trailing thin locks that drape down past her shoulders. One leg is bent upward with her foot planted flat against the wood, while her other leg dangles lazily off the side of the branch, suspended in mid-air. Her compact feathered black wings are neatly folded flat against her shoulder blades, kept clear of the bark. Her golden eyes are half-closed in drowsy satisfaction, watching the forest floor far below with a soft, content smile. Dense green leaves form a sprawling canopy above, plunging the perch into cool emerald shade broken only by bright, shifting coins of sunlight that distort across the round contour of the branch and the white fabric of her Japanese tunic and hakama. A solitary drifting leaf catches the golden light as it tumbles past the limb, peaceful and serene.
