Ginny Weasley AKA Soulfire
Ginevra Molly "Ginny" Weasley The seventh child of a normal-born sympathetic pureblood couple from County Devon, Ginny Weasley was seen as remarkably charmed. She was also emotionally cursed given the fame that followed the downfall of Tom Riddle (Lord Voldemort) supposedly at the hands of the "boy who lived" Harry Potter; the expressions of relief that many in wizarding Britain felt for the orphaned child (who had been whisked away into hiding by Albus Dumbledore to protect him from vengeance seekers) morphed over the following decade into a cottage industry where the Boy Who Lived became a social icon, the potential third coming of Merlin in the eyes of some. And as she was growing up, Ginny absorbed that wholesale, even to the point where her mother Molly's encouragement would make her dream of one day becoming Mrs. Harry Potter. By the time she began attending Hogwarts in what would have been Harry's second year, that dream was shattering. Given that the lad had disappeared years before without any trace as to what happened to him hit many people hard. What was worse, Ginny would become the victim of the post-Voldemort power plays active in the Ministry of Magic at the time; Lucius Malfoy managed to slip a diary once composed by the young Tom Riddle into Ginny's school supply bag before the start of her freshman year, such containing a horcrux soul fragment of the "late" dark lord, which then moved to possess the child in hopes of reaching the infamous Chamber of Secrets (which Riddle himself discovered decades earlier) to unleash the monster contained within (a millennia-old basilisk) upon the "unworthy" attending the school at the time. Fortunately for Ginny, Riddle's attempt at starting up the Blood War once more would fun afoul of Moroboshi Tariko's great casting drive. By then, Luna Lovegood had been Gifted as Prophecy (along with several other students) and she had sensed what was going on with Ginny. Having charged down to the Chamber to rescue her childhood friend, Luna would team up with Rose Potter (the Warlock) and Margo Black (Doctor Death) to see the horcrux effectively destroyed and the soul-fragment's essence taken by Rose for her own private project (which will be explained in another story). Along the way, Ginny was Gifted as the Mistress of the Fires of Passion, Soulfire; it would be she that killed the basilisk by solar-hot incineration. In the wake of that, Dumbledore would learn the awful truth of what happened to Harry-now-Rose. Ginny would eventually drift into Luna's grasp and the two would form a soul-bonding marriage by their third year of study.
