Seen from a slightly low three-quarter angle, a lone young woman stands frozen in a deeply unsteady, hesitant fighting stance atop cracked concrete rubble. Her hips are pushed far back while her torso pitches awkwardly forward in a defensive crouch, her knees knocked inward and trembling visibly as she struggles to hold her balance on uneven ground. In her right hand, she tightly clutches the hilt of a combat sword whose steel blade has been cleanly sheared off midway, brandishing only the jagged, splintered stump forward at chest height with white-knuckled tension; her left arm is tucked protectively against her ribs, fist balled tight. Her once-sleek bodysuit hangs in frayed, tattered shreds across her torso and shoulders, torn open to reveal scuffed skin and battle grime, while remnants of fingerless gloves cling to her wrists. Spiky bright crimson hair fans wildly around a simple black headband, several damp strands plastered to her forehead by perspiration. Her jaw is set in a stubborn, panicked grimace with bared teeth and wide, defiant eyes locked onto a threat just past the camera. A stark, cold directional light cuts across the scene, glinting along the blunt fracture of the broken blade and casting long, sharp shadows across the debris, while a small pebble rolls loose beneath her shifted back heel under the strain of her faltering stance. Desperate defiance.
