character: shimakaze_(kancolle), copyright: kantai_collection 1girl, solo, long blonde hair, hairband, hair tied up, grey eyes, sailor collar, sailor top, midriff, bare navel, micro pleated miniskirt, striped thighhighs, elbow gloves, standing, wind, hair blowing, clothes fluttering, ocean, horizon, sea, sky, from below, cowboy shot, dutch angle, looking to the side, light smile, half-closed eyes, outstretched arm, hand on hair, contrapposto Seen from a low, slightly tilted angle near the waterline, a single girl stands on sun-warmed wet sand with the sea horizon cutting a hard level line across the frame a little below her chest, so that the whole dome of the sky opens above her head. She is caught mid-turn into the wind: her weight rides on her left leg, the right knee bent and the right foot resting on the ball of the toes with a crescent of displaced sand around it, her hips pushed a touch to the left so the micro pleated miniskirt swings off-axis and its hem lifts and ruffles at one corner. Her left arm is half-raised, forearm crossing her brow-line, fingers hooked loose into the blonde hair at her temple so the long strands streaming sideways pull taut between her headband and her wrist; her right arm hangs slightly back with the gloved hand open and empty beside her thigh. The headband crosses over the crown of her long blonde hair and holds it gathered, and the wind keeps most of it fighting free to one side, whipping past her cheek and streaming out toward the right of frame while a few short strands stick across her forehead. Her grey eyes are turned to the left and out of frame toward the water, lids lowered and easy, lips just barely parted in a light closed smile, chin lifted into the breeze. The sailor top sits high and square across the chest with its collar flat over the shoulders while the hem lifts away from her bare midriff so a sliver of shadowed skin shows above the waistband; the elbow gloves run snug from wrist to just past the elbow, their cuffs creasing as her left forearm bends. The striped thighhighs band their stripes around her legs and the near thigh catches the light while the far one turns away into shade. The breeze comes off the sea from frame left, so her hair, the skirt hem, the loose fabric of the sailor top and the collar ribbons all lean the same direction, and the only thing moving against it is the thin surf behind her running in long white lines toward the shore. Late afternoon sun sits low off to the left and slightly behind the camera: it rim-lights the blowing hair into pale gold, lays a bright edge along her left forearm and her cheekbone, and throws her shadow short and soft across the sand toward the right, while her front stays open and gently lit with cool sky fill in the shadowed side of her throat and under the lifted skirt hem. The palette holds to the blonde gold of her hair, the white and navy of the sailor top and skirt, the red and white bands of the striped thighhighs, the pale grey of her eyes, and the blue-to-cyan banding of sea and sky, nothing else admitted. The horizon stays crisp and uncluttered, the sea a flat plane of broken reflections, her figure clean and large against it. Fresh, breezy, quietly confident.
