character: ashley_graves 1girl, solo, ashley graves, black hair, medium hair, ahoge, pink eyes, black camisole, long sleeves, grey pants, jewelry, barefoot, bare soles, soles, feet up, soles facing viewer, foot focus, toes, spread toes, lying on back, legs raised, knees bent, presenting feet, hypnotized, empty eyes, spiral eyes, dazed, trance, parted lips, drooping eyelids, blush, limp arms, arms at sides, head tilted back, on bed, pillow, indoor, close-up on feet, foreshortening, from below, soft light, dim, spoken_heart The camera sits low at the foot of the bed, tilted up so the raised soles fill the foreground in strong foreshortening while her body recedes up the frame. Ashley lies flat on her back on a rumpled pale bed, head sunk into a pillow at the top of the composition, chin tipped back so her throat is exposed; both knees are bent and drawn toward her ribs, hips rolled slightly off the mattress so her legs lift her bare feet high and forward, the soles turned square to the viewer, heels closest to the lens and toes fanned apart in the wide spread of someone holding a pose she has been told to hold. Her black hair fans out loose across the pillow, the ahoge standing up off the crown and swaying slightly, a few strands caught across one cheek. The black camisole lies flat over her chest, long sleeves pushed down around her wrists, grey pants bunched in soft folds at the backs of her knees and creased at the hips where she presses into the mattress; the small jewelry at her chest and ears catches the light. Her arms have gone slack at her sides, palms turned up on the quilt, fingers loosely curled and not gripping anything -- the weight of the pose rests entirely in the back of her neck and the small of her back, which arch faintly off the bedding, mattress and quilt compressed into a shallow valley under her hips. Her expression is a hypnotized daze: eyelids heavy and half-shut, pink irises unfocused and faintly ringed as though she is looking inward, pupils swimming, lips parted on an open-mouthed slackness, a soft blush across both cheeks and the tips of her ears. Her gaze floats up and past the soles toward the ceiling, not meeting the viewer, seeing nothing in particular. One small hand-drawn heart floats in a tiny speech bubble beside her cheek. The only light is a dim lamp off frame to the upper left, warm and low, so it rakes along the pale arches and balls of her soles and lays a soft-edged sheen across her shins while the undersides of her thighs, the creases behind her knees and the far side of the pillow fall into deep shadow; the soles' cast shadow drops onto the bunched quilt beneath her heels, and between her spread toes the light leaves small dark wedges. The palette is muted -- the bone-pale pink of her soles, black of hair and camisole, grey of the pants, a wash of warm amber from the lamp against a cool dim room. Bedding fibers and faint toe-crease texture are the detail budget, saved for the feet in the foreground. Quiet, dreamlike trance.
