From beside her presses an ugly monster baby, a squat grubby thing of warty olive skin and mismatched eyes, one arm clamped round her waist in a hug from beside, its long wet tongue extended and dragging a glistening trail across the taut fabric over her belly while its other hand slides flat underneath the belly, cradling the weight; a tiny hand-drawn heart sits in one pale speech bubble beside her face. The room is pastel plaster and gold, ornate floral moldings framing her, diffuse chandelier light from above and to the left raking across the glitter with a soft shadow pooled beneath the huge skirt. High key pastel palette, gold filigree glinting at each ornament, ornate lavish atmosphere, quietly uneasy.
