She remained in the same position as before. Her body settled quietly on the sofa, her injured hind leg staying still, only those blue eyes fixed unwaveringly on the plate of fish on the table. Gakupo looked at her, then at the fish on the table. He suddenly felt like laughing. "Want it that badly, huh?" Luka didn't answer. She simply stared at the fish. Gakupo pulled out a chair and sat down at the table. The chair legs scraped lightly against the floor. Luka's ears twitched at the sound, but her gaze still never left the fish. Once seated, Gakupo didn't rush into his own dinner. He picked up his chopsticks, glanced at the plate of fish, then looked at Luka. "You've been staring at it this whole time." Luka's gaze still didn't shift. Gakupo followed her line of sight back to the fish. "Do you really want it that much?" Luka's nose twitched slightly. She made no sound. But this time, her body leaned a little toward the table. Only a very small amount. If he hadn't been paying such close attention, it would have been nearly impossible to notice. But Gakupo saw it. "Hm?" He raised an eyebrow slightly. "Do you want to eat it?" Luka lifted her head to glance at him. Those blue eyes met his. Then she turned her head away again, continuing to stare at the fish. Gakupo understood. Or at least, he thought he did. "I see." he said softly. "But the vet said you can only have a little." Luka's ears twitched. Gakupo picked up his chopsticks. He didn't bring the fish to her right away, only lifting a small piece from the plate. The fish was gently caught between the chopsticks. Luka's gaze followed it instantly. Her head turned slightly along with that piece of fish. Gakupo looked at her. "This one?" He raised the fish a little higher, to where she could see it. Luka's eyes lifted along with it. "Do you want it?" She still didn't answer. Gakupo waited a moment. Luka looked at the fish in his hand, then at his face. After a few seconds, her nose twitched slightly. Then, she slowly leaned forward a little. Gakupo didn't bring the fish over to her. He simply stayed where he was, watching her reaction carefully. Luka's gaze remained fixed on the fish. Her ears no longer flattened backward. That expression of hers was completely different from when she'd first woken. Gakupo couldn't help but laugh a little. "Guess you really do want it." Luka seemed to understand. She glanced at him once. Only then did Gakupo move the fish a little closer. "But you can't just eat it like this." Luka paused. "You're still injured right now." His tone remained gentle. "And the vet said small amounts, small bites." Luka listened quietly. She didn't know who the vet was. Nor why she needed to follow these rules. But she knew this human before her was looking out for her. At least, judging from every single thing he'd done since she'd woken, he'd shown no intention of hurting her. Gakupo looked at the piece of fish in his hand. "A piece this big is still a bit much for you." Luka's gaze remained fixed on the fish. Gakupo couldn't help glancing at her again. "Are you even listening to what I'm saying?" Luka's ears twitched slightly. Gakupo laughed. "Just staring at that fish the whole time." As he spoke, he lowered the chopsticks a little. Luka's gaze dropped along with it. She really did seem completely focused. Gakupo didn't tease her further. He looked at the piece of fish once more. "Wait here a moment." Luka lifted her head. Gakupo looked at her, his tone gentle and earnest. "I'll go cut it up smaller for you." Having said that, he didn't get up right away. He simply looked at Luka. As if confirming whether she truly wanted to eat it. Luka gazed at him quietly. She didn't flee. Nor did she retreat back into the sofa. Instead, she kept watching the piece of fish in his hand. This time, Gakupo was completely certain. She really did want to eat it. He nodded gently. "Alright." "Got it." Luka's ears perked up slightly. And Gakupo still didn't rush to bring the fish to her mouth. He simply held the chopsticks steady, looking at this little cat before him who had finally become willing to express what she wanted. From finding her at the shrine today, to bringing her to the hospital, to taking her home. Just a single day. She had gone from a completely unconscious, unresponsive injured cat, to now staring at fish, leaning toward his hand, and even answering his presence with a soft little "meow." Gakupo didn't know how long it would take for her to fully recover. Nor did he know who she really was. But at least now, he knew one thing. She was hungry. And she wanted to eat fish. Gakupo looked at her and said softly: "Just wait a little longer." Luka kept her eyes on that piece of fish. And this time, she wasn't afraid anymore. Levantó el pescado un poco más, hasta donde ella pudiera verlo bien. Los ojos de Luka también se alzaron. "¿Lo quieres?" Ella todavía no respondió. Gakupo esperó un momento. "Un trozo tan grande sigue siendo demasiado para ti." La mirada de Luka seguía pegada al pescado. Gakupo no pudo evitar mirarla de nuevo. "¿Acaso no estás escuchando nada de lo que digo?" Como si estuviera confirmando si de verdad quería comer. Luka lo observó en silencio. No huyó. Tampoco retrocedió hacia el fondo del sofá. En cambio, siguió mirando aquel trozo de pescado en su mano.
