shimenawa Galeri

Shimenawa is a traditional Japanese sacred rope used in Shinto practices to enclose and purify holy spaces or objects. These striking woven elements are frequently depicted adorning torii gates, ancient sacred trees, massive boulders, and intricate shrine architecture. Artwork featuring shimenawa often includes zigzagging white paper streamers, emphasizing the spiritual and mystical atmosphere of the setting.
