Low angle wide shot from just above the waterline of a swimming pool at sunset, tilted up so both women rise against a burning orange sky; the pool's far tiled edge cuts a long horizontal line across the lower third of the frame, and the two of them occupy only a quarter of the image, small against the open evening. On the left, a woman with short brown hair gathered into a double bun, each bun bound by a slim ribbon, sits on the warm tiled poolside with her legs pressed together and swung over the edge, only her calves over the water; she wears a blue sleeveless shoulderless one-piece swimsuit, her skin bone-dry and matte, a thin bracelet circling her left wrist as her palm rests flat on the tile behind her hip for balance, the other hand loose across her knee, brown eyes lifted straight into the lens, lips parted in a faint, knowing closed-mouth smile. On the right, a blonde with twin braids and a single springy ahoge lies on her side along the same tiles, her hips turned laterally, her head resting sideways across the other woman's thighs, cheek flattened against the blue fabric, one arm folded under her head, the other draped down over the tiled coping; she wears a green one-piece swimsuit, and her body is soaked, water still beading and running off her shoulder and braid onto the warm stone, a thin dark scar crossing her face, blue eyes angled up toward the viewer from below. Their bodies overlap at the head-on-thigh contact, her braid trailing over the other woman's knee; behind them the pool surface reflects the low sun in broken copper plates, every reflection darker and softer than the sky it copies, and the low light rakes across the scene from the sun near the horizon, warming the dry woman's shoulders and the wet woman's slick highlights while the tiles at their backs fall into long purple shadow. Palette of burnt orange sky, deep teal pool water, and the two flat accents of blue and green swimsuits against terracotta tile.
