Camera pushes in tight and low: a zoom-in close-up from below, both faces filling the frame in three-quarter profile, the pink-haired girl on the left and the white-haired girl on the right, their mouths meeting at the centre-left of the image. The pink-haired girl tilts her chin up and leans in, eyes shut, a small fang just visible at the corner of her parted lips, a stray lock of very long pink hair falling across her cheek, her ahoge catching the light; her yellow-and-blue mismatched eyes are closed but the colour still reads at the lash line. The white-haired girl meets her at an equal tilt, eyes closed too, purple eyes hidden behind lowered lids, a black hairclip holding her parted bangs back from her brow, one small horn silhouetted against the light, the other turned away. Their hands are clasped between them at chest height, fingers laced, her black-gloved hand wrapped over the pink-haired girl's bare one, knuckles pressed white. The white coat is pushed back off her shoulders, slipping down her upper arms, black thighhighs and skirt below, white shirt and necktie visible at her collar. The pink-haired girl wears her white shirt and necktie, sleeve cuffs at her wrists. Side light from a high window rakes across both faces from the right, catching the bridge of their noses and the seam where their lips touch, leaving the far sides of both faces in soft shadow, the classroom behind them dissolving into darkness with only a faint pale rectangle of window glow. A single shaft of light makes their mingled breath and the fine hairs at their temples glow, and the shadow of their joined hands falls across the white shirt between them. Palette is cool grey-blue shadow against warm skin and pink-and-white hair, the dark room sealing the edges of the frame. Tender, intimate, charged.
