Shot from below and slightly off to the side, a young woman with long orange hair that falls past her shoulders and a swept fringe dropping between her eyes rises into the upper half of the frame, her head tilted a few degrees toward her right shoulder as she looks straight down into the lens. Her eyes are a clear, saturated blue under half-lowered lids, the left one a touch more open than the right, and her lips are closed in a faint, one-sided smile that pulls higher at the right corner, a small breath lifting her collarbone. She wears a glossy red pilot's bodysuit that hugs her torso and arms, the collar riding high on her neck, the seams running over her shoulders and down between her collarbones catching a thin line of light, and a small interface clip rests against the crown of her head, its dark prongs pressed into the orange hair. Her right hand lifts to press flat against her own upper chest, fingers slightly spread over the suit's fabric, the pressure dimpling the material around each fingertip, while her left arm hangs loose behind the frame edge, only the shoulder visible. Her weight is on her back foot, her body leaning a few degrees into the lens so that her near shoulder reads larger and her far hip falls back into soft shadow. Behind her everything is a flat, deep darkness with no horizon and no detail, so she stands out purely as a lit shape. One low, warm key light from her front-left side rakes across her face, striking the cheekbone and the bridge of her nose and leaving the right side of her jaw and the side of her neck in a narrow shadow band; a cooler rim picks out the left edge of her hair and the shoulder seam, separating her silhouette from the black ground. The palette is strictly her red suit, her orange hair, the blue of her eyes and the black field, nothing else admitted. Her hair moves slightly to the left as though a draft crossed the set, a few strands lifting free of her shoulder. Confident, quietly challenging.
