Emily's Story

Emily was the best on her team. The basketball star. Her lay ups were swift, jumps high, and she was light on her toes. She knew the game, and put every opposing team at a struggle for survival. Part of her skill relied on her daily dedication and morning jogs. It was Tuesday morning and she was off on her usual job through the forest when a loud bang sounded above and behind her. She slowed down, turned around, and jogged slowly backwards as she shielded her eyes from the sun, looking for the cause of the ruckus. There was nothing... at least from what she could see. The tall trees blocked most of the sky letting in only a moderate amount of light threw onto the path Emily was on. CRASH! Directly to her left, trees snapped as a small airplane bulldozed through the forest. Emily jumped backwards as a sheet of metal from the planes exterior flew off and wobbled through the air directly towards her. Emily's back thudded with the ground just as the sheet metal hit her in the legs above the knee. There was no stopping it. Emily was now looking down her body where it ended above the knee. The metal piece was lodged into the ground and Emily was on both sides of it. She tried to sit up and put her hand under her gasping for air. Not knowing if she believed what she saw, Emily pulled herself away from the sheet metal. It was true, her legs had been severed off of her body. Exhausted and scared, Emily passed out. She woke up and rubbed her eyes. Looking around her she saw that her body up to the boobs was inside of a backpack. In fact, she was in a backpack being carried by a man. She gasped slightly and the man stopped and took off his backpack. "Hey there" he said. "Glad your back. I'm sure you have a lot of questions, but let me get you some food first. He unzipped the pack and lifted Emily out very easily. He brought her in chest on chest, and started searching for some food in his backpack. He grabbed two granola bars and handed one to Emily while laying down on his back. Emily was standing on his stomach with her stumps now shortened significantly. She grabbed one and lifted it. There were some snug stitches all a round the rim sealing the leg shut. This was going to change her life. Like for part 2!!
