He used to race these winding roads for fun, so when my husband-the-mechanic suggested a romantic convertible drive, I should have known better. The scenery is beautiful, sure, but it's hard to appreciate the view when you're busy using the seatbelt as a prosthetic limb. Lesson learned: you can take the driver out of the touge, but you can't scrub that racing line out of his muscle memory.
