Uriah pt. II

Although no exact date is recorded, it is estimated that between two and ten years passed following Uriah's disappearance after the 'Destruction of Querencia.' During that time, most of his 'brothers and sisters' were eliminated by Daeva. However, at an unspecified time—and with few surviving records—a mysterious figure emerged in the sublevels of Dolorosa; he went by many names, though the most widespread was 'the Master of Truths and Lies.' As word of this figure spread—and as he began to amass a vast following among the most destitute—the Board of Directors dispatched Daeva to eliminate the troublemaker. Daeva felt a flicker of astonishment upon realizing almost immediately that this 'Master' was none other than Uriah, who appeared noticeably older and deranged. The ensuing battle was brief and bizarre, with hardly a word exchanged between them. Countless acolytes perished protecting their 'Master,' though Daeva remained indifferent to their deaths. What struck Daeva most—aside from her 'brother's' rapid aging and deterioration—were the abilities he wielded against her; while Uriah’s psychic power was not offensive in nature, she witnessed him bending matter and reality to his will, chanting what sounded like songs in a language impossible for her to identify. Even so, Daeva ultimately killed him; the inexplicable nature of Uriah's abilities reminded her of a prior supernatural encounter with Ataegina, reinforcing the notion that the Redeemers might be something more than mere products of genetic engineering pushed to the pinnacle of science. Even as he breathed his last, Uriah tried to hum in that unknown tongue, clutching a black-bound book. Upon his death, Daeva took the book, titled *The Book of All Truth and All Lies*. The moment Daeva picked it up, she sensed that the words contained within were of an inhuman nature, so she decided to burn it right then and there.
