Nesia-chan’s Earth Journal No.5: Luxurious Breakfast When I woke up on my second day in this world, the first thing I felt was hunger. It was so bad that my stomach hurt. I had not eaten anything since I came here yesterday, and now my whole body felt weak. But I have no money, so how am I supposed to buy food? Even so, I could not stay in my room forever. I have to go outside and find something to eat somehow. When I stepped out of my little room, I saw the kind old lady who owned the inn. She had just finished her breakfast. But the faint, lingering smell alone made me even hungrier, and before I could hide it, my stomach let out a loud, awful growl... How embarrassing! But instead of laughing, the old lady looked at me with a gentle expression. Then she handed me a piece of bread. She really is so kind... I thanked her and took a bite. My eyes widened immediately. It is so soft! In my old world, bread this soft would have been expensive, far beyond anything I could ever hope to eat. But then I tasted something even more surprising. Is this... chocolate? Sweet, rich chocolate was hidden inside the bread. I knew what chocolate was. Back in my old world, something like this would only be served at noble parties. Of course, I had never tasted it myself. And yet, this old lady gave it to me so casually, simply because I was hungry... I could not imagine how expensive this chocolate bread must have been. How could I ever repay her kindness? No matter what, I made up my mind. I will find a job and repay her properly someday!
