USS Resolve

Starship AI of USS Resolve, one of four starships of Project Fort which became fully active in 2330 as part of a multi-tier plan to have a small squadron of support ships available for any Starfleet task force that might deploy beyond the support of nearby starbases for an extended period of time. She is shown here on one of the cargo decks with a fresh delivery of alcoholic beer for the times when mere synthehol simply wouldn't cut it anymore. Resolve is named in honour of Project: Resolve, a special defence support operation which took a civilian cargo ship, the MV Asterix, and transformed it into an operational AOR (auxiliary oil replenishment ship); this is a type of vessel that serves as a flotilla's "one stop shop" for fuel, dry goods, ammunition and other supplies to keep said flotilla going. The MV Asterix was put on contract with the Royal Canadian Navy in the early XXI Century, but when World War Three started up, she was formally commissioned as HMCS Resolve, serving well through most of that conflict. USS Resolve was meant to honour that service; while replicator technology in the universe of Star Trek is quite impressive, there's something about having real-made goods (such as properly brewed beer) available which would do wonders for crew morale. Whenever Resolve was in the area, there wasn't a single doubt that any Federation starship would gladly come alongside to partake of whatever she carried in her holds. She served as the synthetic "soul" of an Edward-class cargo shop converted to auxiliary replenishment duties from 2330 for thirty-five years, being paid off in 2365. Two years later, she would commission as a Fabrux-class tender modified for heavy cargo transport; in this hull, she would last until 2380, when the wear and tear of the Dominion War just reduced the hull to barely functional. After that came a modified Olympic-class research ship adjusted for fast replenishment duties, her third commission taking her to past Frontier Day when damage occurred in that fight would see her paid off in 2402. The Amishk were quick to provide her with a modified Horizon-class science ship primed for Starfleet Medical support in 2404, in whose hull she serves on today. Given her perpetuated ship's original name, Resolve the shipgirl fashions herself after the classic French cartoon character Asterix. And while she doesn't have the "magic potion" to boost the strength of a gynoid body, she does inherit a love of a good traditional brew no matter what planet of origin it hails.
