Nesia-chan’s Earth Journal No. 8: Why Is Bathing So Complicated? I could not keep up with Karta at all. After she somehow made our faces appear on her strange pink object called a smartphone, she kept talking without stopping. I barely understood half of what she said, and somehow she kept calling me a Manga Girl. What does Manga Girl even mean? Even Grandma Innkeeper looked surprised by her granddaughter’s excitement. In the end, she told Karta to let me take a bath first. I was grateful for the escape. But then Karta suddenly leaned closer, sniffed once, and told me that I smelled bad… Really, did she have to say it so directly? Still, I had not bathed since arriving in this world yesterday, so I could not really argue. Karta dragged me into the bathroom, and I was immediately speechless. In my past world, commoners only use a cloth to clean ourselves. But here... There was a magic tool called a sink where water came out just by turning a small silver tool. There was a huge white bathtub that filled itself with water. There was even something called a shower that made water fall from above. Why are there so many magic tools!? Then Karta showed me soap, hot water, cold water, and all sorts of other things. There was even a special soap just for hair! Is this really a cheap inn? Why does everything look like something nobles would use? My head was already spinning, but thankfully, I was not completely hopeless. After Karta showed me everything once, I understood the basics. Turn this. Use that. Wash here. Rinse afterward. Eventually, she left me alone. I carefully sat in the warm bathtub and immediately let out a soft sigh. It felt so nice... I looked at the soap, shampoo, and shower around me. This world was still very strange. But at least, I learned something new today! Even if it was only how to take a bath, it was still an achievement! Mm. As expected of me!
