Now that investigators have identified the cause of the transformations and how the uma musumes turn into "MerUma musumes", various health and safety protocols have been put into effect. As of the report dated April 16, 2022, at least 67% of all students had already transformed into mermaids. First, all affected Uma Musumes must be transferred to areas with water. 78% of the affected Uma Musumes were transferred to the school pool, where most of the transformations occurred.
