The steady beeping of the monitor beside the bed echoed softly through the room, while the bouquet of pink flowers by the window seemed even warmer beneath the sunlight. Shu stood near the window, her short silver hair touched by a soft halo of light. She was still dressed neatly in her white doctor’s coat, a black eyepatch covering one eye. Her visible blue eye rested quietly on the person standing in front of her. Bell was wearing her usual pink-and-white nurse uniform. Her long pink hair was naturally braided into two thick braids on either side of her face, falling over her chest and reaching almost to her waist. Instead, she raised her head, her green eyes curving into gentle crescents. “Because when you’re with me, Shu, sometimes you don’t look like a doctor at all.” Shu paused. Her long pink hair flowed over her shoulders, while the two long locks in front of her ears extended all the way down to her waist. Dressed in her nurse uniform, she carefully held onto the doorframe and revealed only half of her face. Her blue eyes sparkled with the excitement of someone who had just uncovered a major secret. Behind her, Ruizuki leaned forward slightly. His medium-length purple hair was streaked with vivid pink highlights, and his golden eyes peered through the opening toward the room. His white doctor’s coat, at least, was perfectly neat. Galuri puffed out her cheeks. “You two are laughing at me.” Bell walked over and gently patted Galuri on the shoulder. “Because you were incredibly obvious.” “It’s only because you two were being so sweet that I wanted to watch.” Bell blinked. “Then what about you and Ruizuki?” “Us?” “Yeah.” Bell deliberately looked between the two of them. Ruizuki’s hand was still resting lightly on Galuri from when he had caught her. Galuri looked down. Her entire face turned red. “T-That was only because I almost fell!” “I didn’t say anything.” Bell’s smile became even more mischievous. “Galuri, you’re the one who started explaining.” “Bell!” Galuri immediately tried to go after her. Bell quickly retreated behind Shu. Shu naturally lifted an arm, allowing Bell to hide behind her. “Shu, don’t protect her!” Galuri protested. Shu remained perfectly calm. “I’m a doctor.” “So?” “Protecting nurses is part of the job.” Bell immediately peeked out from behind Shu’s shoulder. “You heard her.” “You—!” Galuri was just about to argue back when Ruizuki suddenly took her hand from behind. Galuri froze. She turned around.
