One glow stick after another flickered to life. From the front rows all the way up to the second-floor balcony, the entire venue gradually transformed into a soft sea of pink. The massive curtain at the front of the stage was still closed. There was no host. No countdown. Even the full lineup for tonight’s performance had never been publicly revealed. The promotional poster carried only the names of Rin and Galuri, along with one deliberately simple line: —Special Birthday Live. As for who exactly this concert had been prepared for, the organizers had never offered any further explanation. Naturally, the audience had already come up with plenty of guesses. But right now, no one cared about finding the answer. Every pair of eyes was fixed on the stage that still seemed to be asleep. Then— Click. The final house light went out. Darkness fell over the venue. The chatter in the audience gradually faded within seconds. Only thousands upon thousands of glow sticks remained floating in the darkness. Like countless stars scattered across a night sky. Then a low drumbeat sounded. Boom— A red line of light appeared across the stage floor. Then came the second beat. Boom—! Pink light began spreading from both sides of the stage toward the center. Electronic synths slowly joined in, layering themselves over the quiet opening melody until the music grew richer and stronger. Everyone knew. It was starting. Suddenly, the giant screen at the center of the stage lit up. The silhouette of a dragon wing flashed across it. The audience erupted instantly. “Rin—!” The lift on the left side of the stage slowly rose. A deep crimson spotlight dropped straight down. Rin stood in the center of it. She had already changed into an idol outfit designed especially for tonight. Her white-and-red skirt was made of layered lace and translucent fabric, while delicate golden chains hung from her waist. A heart-shaped gem and a red ribbon decorated the front of her costume. Her strong dragon features did not clash with the idol styling at all. If anything, they made her stand out even more. Her horns rose clearly through her pink hair. A pair of dragon wings opened slightly behind her. Her long dragon tail curved naturally along the stage floor. The red scales covering parts of her body gleamed faintly beneath the spotlight. Rin held a microphone in one hand. With the other, she reached toward the audience. The very moment the final beat of the intro landed, she snapped her head up. “Everyone—!” The venue exploded with cheers. Rin grinned. She turned, her dragon tail drawing a graceful arc behind her. “Tonight is only just beginning!” The drums suddenly accelerated. Rin stepped toward the center of the stage in rhythm. And just as every eye was focused on her, a completely different light appeared on the right side of the stage. Not red. A soft pale pink. Countless petals began drifting down from above. Galuri appeared within the light. The cheering grew even louder. She wore an idol outfit that matched Rin’s overall theme while still feeling completely her own. The costume was primarily white and sakura pink, with multiple layers of delicate lace forming the skirt. A deep pink bow rested at her waist, while small silver chains moved gently with every step. But the most eye-catching part of her appearance was still her long pink hair. Her smooth hair flowed well past her waist. And in front of both ears, one distinct long lock of hair fell on each side of her face. One on the left. One on the right. Both extended naturally along her shoulders and all the way down to her waist. When the stage breeze passed by, the two front locks lifted softly together with the rest of her hair, yet remained clearly visible and separate. Galuri raised her face. Her bright blue eyes reflected the stage lights. She did not immediately walk toward the center. Instead, she lifted her microphone and picked up the next line of Rin’s melody. For the first time that night, their voices met on stage. One crimson spotlight. One pink spotlight. Both slowly moved toward the center. Rin took one step forward. Galuri did the same. The distance between them gradually disappeared. Then, the moment the main melody began— The two beams of light completely overlapped. Rin and Galuri stood together at center stage. The massive screen behind them burst to life. All of the decorations that had been hidden in darkness suddenly illuminated at once. Balloons. Flowers. Heart-shaped lights. Golden stars. And high above the stage, a huge banner slowly unfolded. Happy Birthday britain The audience broke into applause again. But Rin and Galuri never stopped performing. This was not meant to be a moment where someone was suddenly forced into becoming the center of attention. The banner felt more like part of the stage itself. A quiet birthday wish woven into the performance. Rin had already turned and started running down the extended stage. “Galuri!” Hearing her name, Galuri immediately looked over. Rin did not say anything else. She simply reached out her hand. Galuri smiled. She ran forward several steps. Their hands touched lightly at center stage. Then they immediately separated again, spinning off in opposite directions. It was a dance they had practiced countless times. Rin opened her dragon wings. Galuri turned gracefully. Her long pink hair spread out with the motion. Her layered skirt flared at the same time. It felt as though the entire stage had truly awakened in that moment. The glow sticks in the audience began moving together with the beat. Left. Right. Left. Right. Galuri continued singing as she moved along the front of the stage. She was not deliberately looking for anyone. From time to time, her gaze simply drifted toward the deeper sections of the audience. There was indeed a specially invited guest somewhere in the venue tonight. But that was not a seat that needed to be placed under a spotlight. At least, not now. Right now belonged to the music. To the stage. And to the concert that had only just begun. The first song was not even over yet. Rin had already returned to Galuri’s side. The two stood shoulder to shoulder. The drumbeat grew faster. The lights began changing rapidly with the rhythm. Galuri raised her left hand. Rin reached toward the opposite side. As the next chorus arrived, they both stepped forward at the exact same moment. “—!” Every glow stick in the venue swept downward together. The sea of pink light surged like a wave. And behind them, the enormous birthday banner remained quietly suspended among the countless spotlights. Rin looked toward Galuri. Galuri happened to turn at the same time. They exchanged a smile. Because both of them knew— This was only the first song. There was still so much more prepared for tonight. The real concert— had only just begun.
