Shattered Elegance

Kintsugi (金継ぎ) is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold — instead of hiding the cracks, the potter traces them in gold, so the damage becomes the most beautiful part of the piece. I wanted to see what that looked like applied to a person instead of porcelain. Her skin fractures like ceramic, but what pours through the cracks isn't pain — it's light. Part of her is still coming apart, drifting upward as gold-lit shards, and she's letting it happen with her eyes closed, completely at peace. Not broken. Just... becoming something that was allowed to heal in gold instead of being hidden.
